How it Started

Over a decade ago, during my time studying at Capilano University, I embarked on a week-long kayaking expedition around the Discovery Islands in the North end of the Georgia Strait.

​

Despite the initial gloomy weather, I had planned the trip with my culinary skills by planning our group's menu. One morning, I whipped up a simple yet comforting 'Eggs Benedict' breakfast. As we savoured it against the backdrop of the coastline, with orcas gliding by and wolves serenading in the distance, I had an epiphany...

Through cooking for my companions that week, I realised the profound impact of food on experiences. No matter the uncontrollable elements like weather or tides, the power to shape unforgettable moments lay in crafting memorable meals. This revelation became my guiding principle ever since: "Where good food makes great experiences."

Meet the Chef

Cooking has been my passion for as long as I can recall. My earliest memories are of my grandmother's culinary creations, sparking my fascination with food. I began my culinary journey during high school, starting as a dishwasher and progressing to a prep cook at a local family-run eatery. It was there I learned the joy of infusing food with creativity and passion.

I earned my Red Seal certificate from Vancouver Community College, as well as a certificate for 'Advanced Wilderness Leadership' from Caplilano University. I have always been passionate about food and the outdoors, and i believe that just because you are in the remote wilderness doesn't mean you cant enjoy good food. 

 

I have delved into a variety of diverse culinary environments, from boutique resorts to prestigious dining establishments worldwide. I even contributed to the opening of several restaurants for major casinos.

My journey led me to manage a 200-seat fine dining Italian restaurant in New Zealand, where I championed fresh pasta daily. Later, I played a pivotal role in launching a tap house, blending craft beers with a dynamic menu.

​

Returning to Canada, I embraced my roots in Maple Ridge, assuming the role of Head Chef at a local cafe, where I revitalised operations and fostered growth.

​

Now, as the founder of Twisted Stock Catering, I am committed to delivering unparalleled culinary experiences. Whether orchestrating mountaintop weddings or curating family meal plans, I strive to exceed expectations with every dish, embodying my belief that exceptional food creates unforgettable moments.

Darien literally swooped in last minute and was able to save my wedding. I was in such a time crunch, and he not only came up with an entire menu last minute that was in my budget, but he went Above and Beyond at my wedding entertaining guests with his incredibly Charming personality. He proved his extensive training in culinary, and we were and still are to this day extremely grateful. I could not recommend this company enough, I promise you will not be disappointed!!
